On 19.03.2021 I uploaded my first tutorial on YouTube. Of course, it would be great to be able to earn money with this, because I invest a lot of time and of course money (for the materials) in each video.

However, as you may know, YouTube doesn't generate income right from the start. Only when you've generated 1,000 followers and 4,000 hours watchtime you can apply for monetization. Of course, this doesn't stop YouTube from placing commercials in the beginning of the clips anyway and earn money for themselves :) Once you have reached these values, you earn about one Euro per 1,000 clicks.

So I was still far away from monetization at the time of the first tutorial (spoiler: Even today, almost 1 year later, I still haven't reached these values! :D ) and therefore I decided to use affiliate links.

You can generate such links via Amazon Partnernet and get a share of a few cents on the purchases you make through them. For the buyers the prices remain the same of course!

Also for this program you have to apply first and after you have generated three qualified sales, you will be checked, evaluated and maybe accepted. My first application for the program was rejected, so I applied again a few months later and was finally approved at the end of November 2021.

Conclusion: Yes, you can earn money online, but you need to do some preliminary work and you should not expect "fast money".
